Thank you for writing this and supporting your child the way that you do. To be honest, some of this was difficult to read as it brought back many painful memories, of when I was in school; Fifth grade was when things started to seriously go down hill for me. Some how I managed to get through Jr HS w/o committing suicide, which I had contemplated more than once,. As we now know, at that time(nearly 50 yrs ago), there simply wasnt any “language” to explain what I was feeling. I just went along w/ what others told me, that I was a f*gg*t, queer, etc, etc. Puberty can be a rough time for even the most well adjusted/ Cis kid. But for someone thats Trans, I have sometimes compared it to shooting the rapids, but in reverse; Your body is going one way, and your heart/mind have other ideas, which dont align w/ the final destination,,. Overall, Im hopeful that Teachers( I had a few great ones, and a couple of really horrible ones) schools, and society in general are coming around, but ever so painfully slow it seems at times,. Good luck :)
