Thank you,. The world that you and I grew up in 50 years ago is certainly different from the one now. I try very hard not to sound like some old f@rt howling at the moon about these issues we are now facing in Trans community. Back when I was young(class of '78 BTW) there was no such thing as, Trans. There was just no language to explain it. But I DID get called other things like, f@gg@t , and Queer(wow, how the meaning of that has changed, huh?), etc. Turns out I actually was a Straight woman, but it took me another 45 yeas of being in the closet and living w/ shame to realize that,. The recent surge in FtM Trans amoung young folks is a very interesting trend,,. You dont think that there COULD be some social element to that trend,,? I can easily see how Trans women participating in womens sport, both at the amateur and professional level, gets many Cis women upset who have worked hard for decades for equity to now have Trans women come along. I wouldnt ever say that Trans women shouldnt have the same opportunities, but there needs to be some types of adjustments made to ensure fairness. Similarly how JKR who was once the darling of the Tween/YA crowd, is suddenly labelded a Transphobe for merely standing up for a friend that lost her job. Its intereting how many Trans folks who supposedly are accepting and open minded, can seem so shallow and narrow minded,. One other icon from the past and present that Im sure you are familiar w/ is Caitlynn Jenner. I admire her for eveything she has done, but I also can see that she has had her own awkward moments, and has expressed opions that Id like to understand better. But Im not ready to throw her under the bus for merely being white, rich, and Republican.
