Sad but true. I started at 7 or 8 in Cub Scouts which was great fun, craft projects and a few nature outings. Weblos, at age 10 or 11 is it?, things started to become very problem matic. Perhaps it might have been that it was about that same time I started secrectly dressing in my Moms stuff,. I spent a year or so in Boy Scouts until I finally decided that I had enough; On my one and only camping trip, one morning, one guy tried flipping the eggs I was cooking into my face. Luckily the pan I was using was one of those cheap, light weight "mess kits". I wailed on his head like I was crazy, until there wasnt anything left of the pan,. He wasnt hurt at all,. But I hate to think of how this would have ended if I had been using a heavy skillet,,. I largely blame the general climate in Scouting to the Leaders, who at least 50 years ago, were often active or ex Military. These days there seem to be at least some effort to also promote things like STEM skills. I still love the outdoors, but as I tell others and my Wife, my Idea of camping is the Holiday Inn. Ill go anywhere during the day, but at nite I want a REAL bed and a readl toilet,.
