One of my most influential book(s) as a Teen(50 yrs ago), was the Happy Hooker series by Xaviera Hollander. Say what you may about her glorification of what we now call, "sex work". To me she was an empowered independent woman, who was way ahead of her time for being sex positive and accepting of LGBTQ folx.
