Im not at all against affirming care for Trans kids, though I will add however that in addition to concerns about the long term safety of puberty blockers, one of the reasons that Ive heard mentioned, though not debated nearly enough is that by delaying(eliminating) Male puberty from taking place, it will make it "easier" for that child(young adult) to transition, because they wont have to contend w/ the predictable results of Male puberty IE: deep voice, height, and facial/body hair. Basically it will make them easier to pass in their affirmed gender. However those things all come down to the arbitrary appearance "standards" that we set for Male/Female genders. Making it about aesthetics, and surprise(NOT), this is also one of the reasons Ive sometimes heard for promoting circumcision. YMMV
