I think that Bill was merely pointing out one of a number of awkward conversations that need take place far more often within our community. I hate to see kids, especially LGBTQ ones, being used as political footballs. The conservative bigots already hates us, big surprise,. But there just isnt any space for anyone that would even question the extent that certain affirming care like puberty blockers COULD present problems. One persons affirming care is another persons "grooming",. You dont think there is some element of differences in how adults in red/blue Sates see Trans kids? Such as how parents might discuss their kids w/ other parents? In a red State, if a kid mentions they might be Gay/Trans, its off the the conversion therapist, or Bible camp,. Where the approach in a blue State would likely be far different. We also need to recognize there is a difference between the word "trend"(a statistical pattern), and being "trendy"(socially popular). You dont think that there COULD be some degree social elements in how so many kids today identify as Bigender, Gender Fluid, or Gender Nonconforming, and the use of They/Them pronouns?? If I was young today, with all of the awareness that we now have about gender, I can easily see myself as identifying that way. However 50 years ago, the only options were Male/Female, pick ONE. The Conservative already see this as one of their reasons for the "decline" of America, yadda yadda.. Why cant we even discuss this w/o the Trans activists getting their panties in a knot?
