As a kid, eveyone thought that I was Gay, and I heard many many times all fo the slurs that went w/ it directed at me. I knew this wasnt the case, but there simply were no words 50 years ago to explain what being Trans was. However this has provided me w/ a ton of empathy towards others who are Gay/Lesbian.
